Osteopathy is a holistic body therapy in which the therapist uses his hands to diagnose and treat patients. This holistic treatment method is used to restore the patient’s mobility and freedom from pain. Our body has extraordinary self-healing powers which can be activated with the help of osteopathic treatment. On the basis of a differentiated diagnosis, the locomotor system, the craniosacral system or the visceral area are treated to release blockages and correct malfunctions.
Paediatric osteopathy is a specialisation within osteopathy. In principle, there are no major differences between the treatment of adults and infants. Nevertheless, it is advisable to provide special care for new-borns, infants and children. Tensions and blockages, which are a great burden for babies and children, can upset the harmonious interaction of the small body.
Physiotherapy is a scientifically based treatment method for improving and restoring physical functions. Using passive and active measures, the body is supported in its healing process. These include among others: Massages, manual therapy, passive and active mobilisation of joints, muscle strengthening, stabilisation, balance training and the back training.

During my training as a sports scientist I began to develop a keen interest in physiotherapy, which resulted in me completing a four-year training to qualify as a physiotherapist. While working as an assistant at the University Sports Institute and as a physiotherapist, I observed that particularly competitive athletes frequently suffer from overstrain and sports injuries, which unfortunately, all too often can lead to the early end of a sports career. Based on my personal experience as an active sportsman, I know that differentiated and thereby highly effective preventive measures can be successfully applied in all areas of the body susceptible to common sports injuries. In order to further develop my skills, I decided to do my research on physical injuries and their causes in competitive athletes for my doctoral (PhD) dissertation, which I successfully defended at the Institute for Physical Rehabilitation in 2002.
I specialize in osteopathy, physiotherapy and sports science.
